Good Lesson, well worth the price

The information contained in this lesson is not new--for an advanced player--however the book and the DVD complete with backing tracks is well worth the price. I was able to get through the book in a weekend and have a few new ideas. I have made the exersizes part of my warm-up routine as they will have you moving across and down the neck in a logical manner.

The first few pages show how to work the blues scale up and down the neck using the basic pentatonic boxes and slides--diagonal approach. Next the author shows the three-note per string approach to using pentatonics which has a more modern and less "boxy" sound than trying to work it all in one position.

Then he continues on with the aeolian, dorian, phrygian, locrian, harmonic and melodic minor, and other more exotic scale work. What I like about the examples is that the author not only works them at various tempos but also shows to work them backwards, a powerful tool to increase your musical vocabulary. Having the DVD makes all of the difference as it shows the author playing the examples according to his convictions which tends to bring life to the book.

This is the best book about commitment in the workplace so far as I am concerned. Readers may find the style of writing, contents and structure so clear and straightforward.
If you STILL recognise employees' commitment to their organisation is composed of only one dimension based upon "affection" or "identification", probably you're wrong. And if you find your coworkers and supervisors may seem committed to the organisation, their behaviours lead to various results, not simply determined as a good citizen's.
This book will give you a key to solve what we think about "complexed" commitment. Essential for MBA students, researchers and HR managers. Good work, in a word.

About the Author
The EOB New Testament Editor is the Rev. Laurent Cleenewerck, an ordained presbyter in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople (2004) serving in the Orthodox Church in America since 2007. He holds degrees from the Institut Saint Serge of Paris, Ukrainian Catholic University and Saint Gregory Nazianzen Orthodox Institute. He is also the author of "His Broken Body - Understanding and Healing the Schism between the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches" and the editor of the forthcoming "Catechism of the Orthodox Faith." Fr Laurent teaches at several universities and resides with his wife and children in Northern California.

A Joy to Read and Think Over

This is the best translation of the New Testament I have ever read. Since purchasing the pocket edition, I bought the perfected edition. It is greatly improved by putting the footnotes at the bottom of the page instead of at the end of the particular gospel and non-gospel portions of the NT. It also includes some introductory material which was missing from the earlier editions and Appendix G: Luke 3:36 -- The Second Cainan Controversy.

No Greek text in Kindle version

I bought the Kindle edition. The Greek text (extensive in the front matter, back matter, and footnotes) is not rendered. I don't know if this is a Kindle problem or a problem with a poor conversion into the Kindle version. If you want to use the "extensive introductory and supplemental material", go with the printed version.

it seems like that could have added some fun to the storyline

The main character never develops a close relationship, with anybody. She likes everybody but distrusts everybody. Since she is suppose to discover and develop her magical capabilities, it seems like that could have added some fun to the storyline, but nothing ever happened. No skills or magic was ever mentioned. Maybe giving her a trusted friend and some newly discovered magic would have lightened up the whole book!

About the Author
Denise Seguin has served in the Faculty of Business at Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology in London, Ontario since 1986. She developed curriculum and taught a variety of office technology, software applications, and accounting courses to learners in postsecondary Information Technology diploma programs and Continuing Education courses. Seguin has served as Program Coordinator for Computer Systems Technician, Computer Systems Technology, Office Administration, and Law Clerk programs and was acting Chair of the School of Information Technology in 2001. Along with authoring this title, she has also authored and co-authored many computer application textbooks for Paradigm including COMPUTER Concepts and Microsoft Office 2013. Jan Davidson started her teaching career in 1997 as a corporate trainer and postsecondary instructor. Since 2001, she has been a faculty member of the School of Business and Information Technology at Lambton College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sarnia, Ontario. In this role, she has developed curriculum and taught a variety of office technology, software applications, and office administration courses to domestic and international students in postsecondary Office Administration Executive, General, and Medical; Human Resources; and Fashion Business programs. In addition to co-authoring this title, she has written instructor resources and SNAP content for Paradigm Publishing since 2006.

The Benchmark Series textbooks are excellent!

I had recently completed a college course in Excel using the Paradigm Benchmark textbook for Excel 2013. I found the textbook easy to understand and I was able to grasp the concepts of Excel quickly without frustration or difficulty, finishing early with an A for the course. So, when I decided it was time to gain some skills in Microsoft Access for future job requirements (this time being self-taught), the first and only textbook that I searched for was the Paradigm Benchmark textbook for Access 2013. Sure enough, just like the Paradigm Excel 2013 textbook, it is a winner! The Access 2013 textbook/course is a thorough tutorial and easy to understand and follow. As a textbook owner/user, I have access to online material from Paradigm, including Student Data Files to accompany the practice and assessment work, online Access tutorials in PowerPoint format both with and without audio, as well as other documents and files to assist me in my learning of Access. I am quite pleased with the Paradigm Benchmark series and with this purchase.

Great for class, or to self-teach yourself Microsoft Access 2013.

I used the companion book Microsoft Word 2013 to take a college class. That book was so good, that I purchased this book to self-teach myself Access 2013. No, there is no answer key. However, examples of the chapter homework results are provided.

I'm 25% of the way through this book (i.e., Level 1, Chapter 5), and so far the book is working great. The course is two levels, each with eight chapters. The CD contains the files you will need.

Therefore, grab this book and CD, a memory stick, and your computer and learn Access 2013!
